his mental/mind remains always

Jñāna (sanskrit, devanagari : ज्ञान ; pali : ñāṇa), est dans l'hindouisme un mot qui signifie: connaissance, savoir, mais il peut être traduit par: réalisation. Vidya en est un synonyme. 

Le jñāna est de deux ordres: la connaissance commune et la connaissance de la Réalité ultime, qui diffère selon les systèmes philosophiques et religieux.

Dans le vedanta, jnāna est la connaissance du lien qui lie le soi individuel jivātman au Brahman. 

Celle-ci est souvent dénommée prajna. 

En ce sens, elle se distingue de vijñāna . 

Elle peut alors concerner moins le mental ou la réflexion que le cœur. 

Pour le bouddhisme, jñāna: la connaissance est complémentaire avec prajna: l'intuition, traduit aussi par le terme de sagesse.

Jīvātman (de jīva en devanāgarī, (Âme),जीव et ātman, ((Le) Soi Individuel) आत्मन् ) est un terme sanskrit qui signifie « Âme individuelle ».

 In this sense it is distinct from vijñāna.



 It can then concern less the mental /mind or reflection than the heart.



 For Buddhism, jñāna: knowledge is complementary with prajna: intuition, also translated by the term wisdom.


Jīvātman (from jīva in Devanāgarī, ( the Ame/Soul) जीव and ātman, ((The) Self Individual) आत्मन्) is a Sanskrit term meaning "Individual Ame/Soul".
